Gerry Summers

Jewellery Designer

Gerry Summers was born in a small Highland village in Aberdeenshire Scotland.

The son of a traditional blacksmith, his childhood was spent watching his father shoe horses and mend ploughs.

He studied Jewellery Design at the Central School of Art and Design in London enjoying the fertile and nebulous flux of excitement and creativity during the Punk and New Romantic era of the early Eighties.

His jewellery is now sold in galleries in London, New York, California, Spain, France and Scotland and he enjoys promoting his exquisite work at events such as Elton John’s Oscar Parties and the Cannes Film Festival, and on board luxury cruise ships sailing round the world. Prestigious commissions are a major part of his arcana with works for famous actors, musicians, footballers, models and opera singers.

He has won many design awards and created the jewellery for the iconic Pirelli calendar of 1987 featuring Naomi Campbell and Waris Dirie.

Colour is a major part of his work with the use of large precious stones including Tourmaline, Aquamarine, Tanzanite, and Spessartine highlighted with fine quality diamonds.

The inspiration for his enchanting jewels has come from a desire to create a symbiosis of natural form and pure geometry and is heavily influenced by the art of ancient cultures.

His studio gallery in Barnes is a focal point for friends and clients to experience the nucleus of creativity and imagination and gives them a chance to collaborate in the creation of wondrous three dimensional forms in precious metals and sensational coloured stones.

This aesthetic stimulates the senses, challenges the mind and awakens the soul.

Gerry Summers is always very pleased to welcome you in to his world.
